Maru derives from a native Korean language, San Ma Ru, which means mountaintop. Our name reflects the altitude at which premium coffee grows and the elevation of everyday ritual.
Founded in Los Angeles in 2014, we set out with a singular focus: to bring intentional, process-driven specialty coffee to the everyday. We source directly from farms, roast in small batches, and serve with care across four locations in Los Angeles and New York.
